Bunny Hop Question - How did I choose my blog name?

Howdy!

Bunny Jean's Bunny Hop Party is doing pretty well!  Lots of new people joined in last week!  Hope the trend will continue!  Her question this week is "how did you get your blog name?"
Well, about ten years ago, I was really heavily into quilting.  Our daughter had just had our grandson Garrett, and our nieces and nephews were having their little ones.  I would make a quilt for each of the kids as they came along. Garrett's quilt was a ragged edge one, made of flannel.  Tiff, our daughter, told us he would carry it all over the house with him!

This pattern is Delectible Mountains, but since it was for Lilly I called it Lillybug Mountain.

One year, I wanted to make something special for my wonderful mother-in-law, Dottie.  I couldn't ask for a better MIL!  She's always there, ready to lend a helping hand, whenever needed.  She's not the intrusive type, but waits till asked.  I hate to impose on her, but there have been times that I just couldn't do it myself.
When we moved into our home almost eleven years ago, Dottie asked if I wanted her to help, and I so grateful accepted!  If it hadn't been for her, we'd still be moving! LOL!
Dottie's quilt and county fair winner for applique.
Anyway, I checked out her bedroom and noted the colors she'd used: blues, golds, greens, and tans.  I designed my own quilt top, a Dresden Fan, using those colors.  The blue just made the whole quilt "POP!"  I also made her a couple of pillow shams to go with the quilt.  She was just ecstatic when I gave it to her!  That year I entered in the Jackson County Fair and the women just went ga-ga over it.  I won 1st place for my applique.

I took it into work as it was progressing, to see how my co-workers would react to it.  If they liked it, Dottie probably would, too.  My boss was so impressed with the quilt, he ordered one just like it for his wife for her birthday that year!  I made a few changes, nothing extreme, but just enough so that each quilt was unique.

Reverse applique (a real pain in the rear!)
After that, I started doing little wall hangings and sold them at work.  I had a booth with Dottie that Fall at a church craft fair and sold many crafted items and wall hangings.  I was encouraged to make up some business cards and came up with "Tomorrow's Memories" at that time.  Whatever happens today, will become memories for tomorrow.

Quilt that still has to be finished, made for our Master bedroom in 2005.
I had to have surgery the following year on my neck.  I had C6 and C7 fused and the stress, both physical and emotional, caused my fibromyalgia to kick into over-drive.  I couldn't work any longer and have been on disability ever since.  Again, my wonderful MIL has been there, taking me to the doctor, the store, etc.  About the only thing I can do that doesn't hurt much, is to sit at the computer.  Even then, my hands sometimes don't want to cooperate, and my mind isn't as sharp as it used to be (fibro-fog).  I can't sit for long periods of time, and am up and down constantly.

I'd long been into genealogy and had joined a couple of blogs that belonged to distant cousins.  Their pages always looked so pretty, so I asked how they did them.  I was directed to another blog that got me involved with PSP (Paint Shop Pro), which is similar to Photoshop.  I started this blog, but didn't have anything I thought anyone would want to read. It just sat there, in bloggy-land, empty and alone for awhile.

Road signs on north side of Seattle
Then, last year my hubby, my sister, and I had to go to Seattle. We all took pictures, which I ended up posting to this blog after we returned.  I just had to share the beautiful scenery and the wonderful places we stopped to see.

So, that's my story, and I'm stickin' to it!  If you don't want an answer (long tho' it be), don't ask! LOL!

Why don't you head on over to Bunny Jean's?  Let us hear about how your blog got its name!  She'll be happy you stopped by!

Take care and God Bless!

I enjoyed your story very much. I am glad that you took the time to write this. Thank you.

I think that so many bloggers don't even read the profile pages, browse through a blog, or even "read" the whole post.

They just don't have the time to "enjoy" someones blog. Especially the bloggers that have oodles of followers.

The newer bloggers are much mor apt to take the time to actually "connect" with other bloggers.

This party is for those who want to make friends, not just get followers...

Hi Joy,
Visiting you during my bunny hop this Wednesday morning and just wanted to say how much I enjoyed the story behind your blog.
Your quilts are just out of this world, I wouldn't know which one to choose as my favourite! Perhaps Jayden's?
Hope you'll visit me in Normandy when you get the chance.
