THE MOST BEAUTIFUL CROCHETED SNOWFLAKES...

Hey everyone!

I just have to share this with you.

I ran across these simply gorgeous crocheted snowflakes through an email I received from Hooked on Crochet from All Free Crochet this morning!  You aren't going to believe the detail in the threadwork!  The photo is from her Snowcatcher blog.

Here's the link to her blog, where she generously shares her patterns:

Deborah Atkinson is her name and she also has a website for her photography.  She is indeed a gifted artist!  If you'd like to see some of her beautiful photos, please click this link:

I hope you enjoy these two sites as much as I do.  I'm off to try my hand at this awesome snowflake!!!  If/when I get it completed, I'll post a picture of the finished product.  But, don't hold your breath! LOL!

Vintage Barbie Knitted Coat and Hat Pattern link

When I was about 9 or 10, I started making clothes for my Barbies, by hand.  Dad would take my brother and me to town on Saturday morning and we'd go to GC Murphy's 5 and 10.

(photo: gcmurphy.org)
I'd race downstairs to the fabric department, to the farthest corner to the right in back of the basement.  I'd go through their patterns, searching for a new outfit to make for my dolls.  Finally finding the perfect item, I'd get the material and pattern with my 25 cents allowance, saved up over several weeks.

Moneystackofcoins

You know the price couldn't have been too outrageous, if I could get what I needed for less than a dollar!  Oh, for the "good ol' days!"

That was the begining of my love of fabric!  I enjoy the creation process...taking a few items and an idea to bring to life something beautiful.

Here's a link to a Vintage pattern for a knitted coat and hat especially for Barbie and her friends.  I was excited to find it and I hope you'll enjoy it, too!

Kaylee's 5th Birthday Party

Our granddaughter, Kaylee, turns 5 years old this week.  Her mom and dad had her party this past Saturday at their home.  Several of Kaylee's friends from church were there and they all had a good time ganging up on older brother Garrett!

Also there were a couple of sets of great-grandparents, several sets of grandparents, an uncle and aunt, and a cousin from Ohio.  This surely was a houseful!!!

Kaylee did pretty good in the present department, as usual.  Neither she nor her brother want for anything with so many grandparents!  She got lots of clothes and a bunch of toys.  I think the great-grandparents sent or brought gift of money or gift cards, quickly confiscated by mom! LOL!

Fake fur trimmed coat with dress underneath (also by Papaw)

Hot pink bling-y velour sweatsuit (another by Papaw!) Can you tell he loves his granddaughter??? LOL!

Princess stuff for the little Princess

Her birthday cake was "Hannah Montana" in theme, and was good, though rich.  Tiff had a wonderful supper of pulled pork sandwiches, baked beans, potato salad (all of this was homemade by family members), veggies and dip, chips and dip, lemonade and filtered water.  It was all delicious!

Beautiful Birthday Girl!
We all seemed to have a good time and stayed about 2-3 hours.  The kids were off playing upstairs, so Kaylee was called down to say "good-bye" to everyone.  We all got big hugs and kisses as we left.

Kaylee's getting to be such a big girl - hard to believe she's five already.  Ten more years and Nate will have to beat the boys off with a bat (not just a stick)!  LOL!
Here ya go, Dad!

Baby Gage Elijah Utter has finally arrived!!!

Gage's first picture. Everyone thought it looked like a little turtle!
So, in honor of Gage's 1st picture, here's a graphic for you!

Gage Elijah Utter made his first appearance today!  He was born at 12:26 PM at Dupont Hospital in Ft Wayne, Indiana.  He was 7 pounds 1 ounce and 20 inches long.  He had to be delivered C-section as he was breech.

Gage Elijah Utter a few minutes old!

Mommy Krysta came through it beautifully, and so did Daddy Mark!  We expected him to faint and we'd have to have someone pick him up off the floor, but he did great, too!

Krysta and Mark with their new son, Gage
Krysta's mom Kathy (my sister) was there to see her new grandson, along with Mary Kate and Jenni, Krysta's sisters.

Aunt Jenni and baby Gage

Does this mean I'm a great-aunt or great-uncle now??? LOL!!! Krysta says I have my dad's humor! :)
